A Quick Word From Yours Truly

Hi, welcome to PJ's blog.

If you've checked out the "About Me" bit you'll see I'm a keen amateur photographer who enjoys all things digital. I mostly like photographing plants and landscapes as they are easy targets ;-) I used to work in Software which sounds more exciting than it is but am now officially a Snr. Project Planner having changed jobs after almost 25yrs in Software. I sometimes wish I could work in photography but that would probably become boring if I did it day in and day out. I used to sponsor a wolf called Luna until she sadly passed away, and love all things "wolfy". Anyhow enjoy the blog and hopefully I'll manage to keep it up to date with what I've been doing and my favourite things!

Averting Online Disaster

Google+ - what a pain in the arse! Got the app on my phone and somehow it's uploaded every bloody photo/video on my phone up to Google+. Now bearing in mind that I've several photos of the nephews on my phone that I'd rather didn't live online I thought I'd just go to the app and select & delete... No chance, not without it deleting the images off my device too - WHAT???

So signed in on the laptop and did the honours on there, not realising that a good proportion of the images I was deleting formed part of my Picasa Web Albums. So I go to my blog and website and find loads of uploaded images and links to Picasa slideshows missing - Aarrghh!!

So to cut a long story short I've had to restore from the Google+ bin (fortunately it has one) and lo and behold my blog and website have been saved :-)

Was going to delete my Google+ account but think I'll just turn off AutoBackup and leave well alone.

Texas Moon CMC - Fancy Dress 2013

Well, posted photos of this year's fancy dress on my website if any of you out there are interested.

Theme was Black 'n' White / Masquerade, didn't know about the Black 'n' White bit till after I'd bought my costume hence the colour! But although it's more Renaissance than Venetian it looked good despite having to sew up three inches of hem!

The Tomorrow People

Anyone out there remember this sci-fi series back in the 70's? I used to watch it (less scary than Dr Who) and was fascinated by their ability to teleport to places. I can remember borrowing one of my Mum's belts and pretending I could too! Walking home in the raw cold which has been our weather this week has made me wish teleportation was for real (minus any dubious references to The Fly!) as I could definitely have benefited from getting back home in the warm in the blink of an eye

George & William - Happy Easter

Got the smashing school photos of you boys in the post the other day from Mummy. Don't you look grown up! Daddy emailed and said you were both doing really well at school and nursery, William it won't be long before you are following George into big school! Thank you so much also for the lovely Easter card you made, you are both so clever with your painting and artwork! We loved the wobbly eyes. We have some Easter eggs here for you but as we're not meeting up yet I'll save them for you both.
lots of love

Paddington does Ideal Home!

Saw this Paddington Bear cake at this year's Ideal Home exhibition, the theme being London Underground. All together we had a good day wandering around, Julia got given a free B&Q do it yourself book for volunteering to get up and cut a tile with their dry tile cutter! Only two show houses which was a bit of a disappointment and neither were all that. In fact the room sets were better including the mock up of Only Fools & Horses done by George Clark. Though we didn't get to see the man himself this year :-( Off home now to chill out and watch Planet of the Apes!
